Unlike many other employees, you haven’t been sent home, but have continued to maintain and clean the offices – how has it been these last past couple of months in terms of your work?
When Denmark was shut down, few people were coming to the Danske Bank premises, and we were instructed to do ‘a deep cleaning’ and to ensure that our working-areas are properly disinfected. We have also placed reminders and notes on tables, doors, etc. to remind everybody how to protect themselves from being infected. Most importantly, we have to follow regulations as to stop the spread of the virus.
Now people are returning – what is it like having people back at the offices?
We are very happy that people are returning to the office. This is a positive sign – that the situation is gradually coming back to normal. Still, we have to be very cautious and follow rules such as social distancing in order to control and stop the spread of the virus.
Can you describe a typical workday for you as of now? What has changed from before Covid-19?
There has been a lot of change in my daily workday routine. Since I am using the public transport system when going to my workplace, I have to be sure that I have a seat reservation before I ride the train. I have to follow the rule on social distancing. I have to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people. I have to avoid personal contacts with my colleagues and friends such as a handshake, hug, etc. More importantly, I have to maintain a good personal hygiene at all times such as washing my hands frequently.
Cleaning is obviously something that concerns our employees, especially in these times – what measures are you taking to ensure everything is living up to standard?
To ensure that my cleaning is living up to the standard, I have to follow the procedures that ISS has formulated in order to provide protection to Danske Bank employees and to avoid the possible spread of the virus. Such as transmitting the virus by hand. Therefore, anything that has possibly been touched by hand must be disinfected. So we do a lot of disinfection. Disinfection of tables, access card readers, doorknobs, coffee machine control panels, copying machine control panels and etc. I always do the best I can to follow the rules and regulations.
