ISS Indonesia Wins Human Resources Excellence Award

Awards for the success in Human Resource Management through sustainable empowerment

PT ISS Indonesia, a leading integrated facility services company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, received the "Human Resources Excellence (HRE) Award 2018" at an awarding event organized by Swa Magazine in collaboration with the Management Institute - Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. ISS Indonesia received awards from three categories: Recruitment Strategy (A rating), Learning & Development Strategy (rating A) and Retention Strategy (BB rating). The success is a proof of the success of ISS Indonesia in empowerment and human resource management (HR).

 

EVP - Head of Human Capital Management of ISS Indonesia Ari Kurnianto said the award obtained by HRE Award 2018 is very proud and proves that the system of empowerment and management of human resources at ISS Indonesia runs effectively. "The industry we are in and serving is a service industry that requires a very high service with human touch. Employees who join us are trained not only to have the technical capabilities of their choices of work but also to have more roles and dedication to our ISS Values through a continuous series of education and training programs within ISS School of Life," he said.

 

Ari said, with total number of employees reaching 63,000 people, ISS Indonesia is the largest in the ISS Group network in terms of the number of human resources. ISS Indonesia recruits 2,000 - 3,000 employees every month, most of them are high school graduates (SMA) and have no working experiences. Through the empowerment program at the ISS, many of these high school graduates who later rose their career to supervisor, manager, and up to vice president.

 

"At ISS Indonesia, high school graduates who were embarrassed by their work as cleaners or parking officers, educated and trained and embedded in the company's values of honesty, responsibility, entreupreunership and quality, so that they can be independent and proud of their work. In the management of human resources, ISS Indonesia also always complies with labor regulations, including in terms of fulfillment of employees' rights," said Ari.

 

HRE Award is a tribute to companies that are considered successful in managing human resources. This award is given through a competition consisting of several stages ranging from administrative selection to the stage of presentation and judging by academics, experts, practitioners and observers of the field of HR. This competition covers various aspects, including recruitment and selection, learning and development, compensation and benefit, performance management, to HR transformation.

 

In this 9th HRE Award, there are 30 companies that succeeded in entering the judging stage, including some e-commerce companies and digital start-ups. Some companies that participated also make this competition for benchmarking or get feedback about the management of human resources in the company. Therefore, there are some participants who have been awarded at the HRE event before.
